Export of flax seeds from Kazakhstan in the 4th quarter of 2021

For many years, Kazakh companies have been among the world’s largest exporters of flaxseed and are strengthening their positions. The country ranks second in world supply.
In the 4th quarter of 2021, over XX,XXX [reveal value] tons of flax seeds with a statistical value of over $XX.X [reveal value] million were exported (according to the data of the National Customs Committee and the report of the Consulting agency “Snowdrop Global”). The total number of domestic exporters exceeds 115 highly competitive companies. The analysis of the national custom data has shown that the following companies: “Eurasia grain trade” (6.32%), “Kokshe Grain” (7.02%) and “Prima Grano Trade” (11.9%) became the top-3 leading companies in the reported period.
These three companies operate in Kazakhstan northern and eastern regions and ship their products to Central Asia and Europe. Thus, “Primo Grano Trade” exports its largest quantities to Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Italy. The company plans to expand it’s market share in these destinations. Surely, Kazakh companies are delivering flax seeds to China which is ranked -2 customer in the world (Trademap, 2020).
The average declared price of shipped flax varied from 0.3 to 1.2$ per kg depending on the company, foreign consignee, and destination. The price of goods is being determined by multiple factors:
